Rosemary is an Educator, Teacher Trainer, Language Development Specialist, Curriculum Specialist, Reading Specialist and Irlen Screener for Perceptual Dyslexia. She is known for her practical teacher-education strategies and problem-solving approach to diagnosing and remediating reading difficulties. She is a published author and the professional writer and program developer for Active Learning Centre International.

Born and educated in Sydney, Rosemary graduated from Macquarie University in 1979 with a B.A. Dip. Ed. in English and Linguistics and completed her Masters in Education at the California State University in Fullerton in 1998.

She has taught in Australia, California and Singapore in primary schools and literacy centres with large migrant, ESL and indigenous student populations; seeding her passion to:

•Find effective strategies to cross language and cultural barriers.
•Make English acquisition easier.
•Research and refine the process of teaching reading and writing.
•Diagnose and remediate children’s reading difficulties.

Overseeing 39 primary schools, Rosemary was a Curriculum Specialist for the Santa Ana Unified School District where she:

•Designed and delivered teacher Professional development programs
•Provided in-classroom coaching for new and experienced teachers
•Coordinated and co-wrote District report cards, standardised assessment instruments and teacher guidelines for literacy instruction.

Rosemary has trained and supervised student teachers from Newcastle and Sydney universities and taught the Literacy in the 21st Century post-graduate course at Chapman University, California.

Rosemary speaks at local, national and international conferences on the development of family literacy, pre-school literacy and the core components of a comprehensive literacy programmer.
